Dutch Baby Pancakes

Easy and delicious dutch baby pancake recipe



Ever impetuous Silas makes a surprise visit to Oakland when it sounds like Simone is considering dropping out of law school. Simone is dumbfounded and elated at his presence, and Silas is starving after the long flight to Oakland. When he asks her to make him one of her famous Dutch Baby Pancakes, she can't resist him. The only catch? He has the cut the fruit for the topping.

3 large eggs

1/2 Cup flour

1/2 Cup milk

1 TBSP sugar

4 TBSP salted butter

Pinch of salt

Diced fruit (optional)

1) Mix the eggs, flour, milk, sugar, and salt together until silky

2) Place butter in a heavy bottomed skillet (I prefer cast iron) and place in oven pre-heated to 425 degree

3) When the butter is melted, remove from the over and quickly add batter evenly spread in the pan

4) Cook for 20 minutes then reduce heat to 300 degrees and cook for another 5 minutes

5) The pancake will but big and puffy. Remove and cut into pieces. Add fruit

6) Enjoy!
